Research Assistant at Imperial College London

Imperial College London is pleased to invite applicants to apply for a new opening postdoctoral associate position. The funds for this fellowship are available for two years. Eligible candidates should submit the applications before December 19, 2018.

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant/Associate position in the Theoretical Physics Group of the Department of Physics at Imperial College London. The position is funded by an STFC Consolidated Grant. You will work with members of the Theoretical Physics Group and will also interact with other members of the Physics Department.

You will contribute to independent and original research, submit publications to refereed journals and assist with the administration of the Research Group and provide support to the research students. This project will involve a high degree of teamwork and interdisciplinary research.

For Research Assistant post you will be about to complete a PhD and for the Research Associate post you will already have a PhD in Theoretical Physics or an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience.

In addition, you must also be able to demonstrate all the following essential criteria: - Research experience in theoretical topics in the following areas; cosmology, quantum field theory, effective field theory, cosmic microwave background, and gravitational waves. - Experience in developing consistent models of the early Universe, theories of modified gravity, models of dark energy, and structure formation. - Evidence of outstanding promise and originality in research, demonstrated by a good publication record, commensurate with your career stage. This is a fixed term position available for two years, with a possibility of extension, subject to funding.
