Postdoctoral Researcher in Genomic Instability and Human Disease

A new postdoctoral position in molecular biology is available at ETH Zurich. This position is open until filled.

ETH Zurich is one of the world's leading universities specialising in science and technology. It is renowned for its excellent education, its cutting-edge fundamental research and its efforts to put new knowledge and innovations directly into practice. Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Laboratory of Toxicology in the Department of Health Sciences and Technology. new position. We are lookingfor a candidate who will conduct outstanding research at the interface of chemistry and biology with a focus on understanding mechanisms of genomic instability related to UV radiation exposure. UV is a powerful environmental carcinogen that can damage DNA, resulting in genome instability and disease initiation. The postdoctoral researcher will investigate mechanisms pertaining to UV-induced DNA damage to understand its role in aging and human disease.

The successful candidatehas excellent qualifications with a PhD in Chemical Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related subject. Knowledge of cell-based imaging and microscopy, qPCR, and Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) would be of benefit. An excellent publication record, with a strong research interest in human disease and aging is desired. The successful applicant will have an interactive and highly motivated personality, excellent English language skills, the ability to carry out research in an interdisciplinary and international environment and a strong desire to disseminate the results in conference talks and journal articles.
