University of North Carolina Chapel Hill is delighted to offer a postdoctoral associate position in gastroenterology. Applications should be sumbmitted as soon as possible.

The Center for Gastrointestinal Biology and Disease (CGIBD) is the research department serving investigators who have an interest in digestive health research. While it is common among other departments and divisions of the Department of Medicine to have some sponsored research projects, the CGIBD and the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology are unique in that nearly every Faculty member has funded research projects and/or clinical trials. The goals and objectives for CGIBD are to promote research and collaboration in digestive health, to maintain a research-training program to equip researchers for future projects and to initiate and maintain outreach programs to serve the international digestive health research community. Additionally, CGIBD serves as a focus for solicitation for funds aimed at research and training in digestive health. Candidates will perform laboratory and research using stem cell isolation and culture, FACS of primary tissues, GI stem cell, Fludigm , qPCR genetic analysis, western blots, mouse colony management and genotyping. This will also involve a number of exercises and opportunities related to career development.
