Postdoctoral Postdoc Position at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill

University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, USA is inviting applicants to apply for a postdoctoral associate position in developmental biology. Applications should be sumbmitted as soon as possible.

The department was formed in July 2012 through the merger of the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology and the Department of Cell & Molecular Physiology. The new department brings together two strong traditions of excellence in basic science and translational research, and in pre- and post-doctoral training, including undergraduate, graduate and medical education. The Philpot lab examines the pathophysiology and treatments for neurodevelopmental disorders. We focus on Rett, Angelman, and Pitt-Hopkins syndromes. We use a variety of technical approaches, including electrophysiology, biochemistry, molecular, and genetic. The selected candidate will work as part of a team under the direction of Professor Ben Philpot at UNC-Chapel Hill to study gene therapies for single gene neurodevelopmental disorders. The goal is to define genetic intervention windows and treatment strategies for successful gene therapies.
