Postdoctoral Fellow/research Fellow Immunology and Microbiology

A new postdoctoral researcher position in molecular biology is available at Australian National University. Successful candidate will have funding to work and study for two years in Australia. Applications are welcome before December 22, 2018.

Classification: Academic Level A-B

Salary package: $71,509 – $111,365 plus 17% superannuation

Term: Full time, Fixed Term (1 year) with a strong possibility of extension

The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the Research School of Psychology, the ANU Medical School, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the Research School of Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will work on an exciting project in the laboratory of Dr Si Ming Man at the John Curtin School of Medical Research. The Postdoctoral Fellow will study the mechanisms regulating innate immune recognition of pathogens, and how pattern-recognition receptors shape the overall immune response to infection. This fellow will also have an opportunity to study the molecular basis by which uncontrolled inflammation leads to the development of cancer (References: Man et al. Cell 2016;167:382-96; Man et al.
