Postdoc Postdoc Position in Mathematics at Open University

Open University, UK is inviting excellent candidates to apply for a postdoctoral fellowship position in mathematics. The initial contract for this position is three years and posible to extend. Potential candidates should apply before November 28, 2018.

Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the Open University to work with Professor Uwe Grimm on the EPSRC-funded project Lyapunov Exponents and Spectral Properties of Aperiodic Structures,

The main aim of this project is to understand the relation between spectral measures that characterise aperiodically ordered systems, paying particular attention to dynamical and diffraction spectra on the one hand, and spectra of Schrdinger operators on the other.

You will have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics or a closely related field, and have experience of undertaking research in a relevant field of mathematics, such as ergodic theory and dynamical systems, the spectral theory of Schrdinger operators or the mathematics of aperiodic order.

The post is funded for three years and is available for a start date between 1 January 2019 and 1 April 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be based at the Open University in Milton Keynes.
