Postdoc Position at University of Cambridge

Applicants are invited to apply for a postdoctoral researcher position at University of Cambridge. Potential candidates should apply before November 28, 2018.

The Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) Centre within the Faculty of Education wishes to appoint a Research Associate to work on a research project to map education research from sub-Saharan Africa. The project aims to increase the visibility and impact of education research conducted by researchers, institutions and networks in Africa. This involves identifying, cataloguing, reviewing and synthesising policy-relevant education research from the region. In addition, the work will also involve updating literature for a database more specifically on private-public partnerships in low- and lower-middle income countries.

The postholder will use the project protocols to identify relevant studies for inclusion in the databases and use these data to analyse and report on patterns and trends. They will also explore options for automating literature identification and database updates from academic databases. The postholder will work with Dr Samuel Asare under the direction of Professor Pauline Rose.

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant subject area, or a Masters with substantial research experience, commensurate to a doctoral degree; have excellent skills in research, in particular with respect to analysis of literature, and use of Excel and bibliographic databases. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders is essential. Experience in bibliometric queries and analysis would also be advantageous.
