Postdoc Position at Imperial College London

Imperial College London is delighted to offer a postdoctoral associate position in molecular biology. The funds for this fellowship are available for 3 years. The deadline to apply is December 02, 2018.

Two post-doctoral positions are available within the Centre for Inflammatory Disease Research, Division of Immunology and Inflammation, Department of Medicine. These posts are funded by the Wellcome Trust and are part of a long-term research program investigating the role of complement in kidney injury.

Complement-mediated kidney damage is an important medical problem with limited treatment options. The post-holder will work on exciting experimental mouse models of complement dysregulation and perform in vivo and in vitro experiments to define the molecular mechanisms of renal injury.

Work will include exploring the role of the complement factor H-related proteins in kidney injury; and elucidating the molecular response of kidney cells to complement using transcriptomic analysis.

Key requirements include:

- PhD in Immunology or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience

- Knowledge of research methods and statistical procedures

- Practical experience within a research environment and / or publication in relevant and refereed journals

- Practical experience in a broad range of techniques including immunohistochemistry, protein assays, molecular biology and experimental mouse models is desirable.

- The post-holder should hold a UK Home Office Personal Licence.

- Ability to develop and apply new concepts

Fixed Term; Full time 3 years
