Postdoc in Marine Species Distribution Modelling at ETH Zurich

ETH Zurich is delighted to offer a postdoctoral researcher position in environmental sciences. Applications should be sumbmitted as soon as possible.

The Research Group of Landscape Ecology at ETH Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL conducts research on the processes shaping and maintaining species diversity within landscapes and seascapes. The team combines field data and modelling to evaluate how extant ecosystems are expected to respond to global changes. We seek a: new position. We offer an international research environment with the opportunity to conduct highly competitive research in environmental sciences. The postdoc is part of the REEF FUTURE project involving 15 research partners globally funded by the joint Belmont Forum-BiodivERsA on biodiversity scenarios. The subproject aims at modelling the response of reef fishes to climate change globally and the consequence on the future provision of ecosystem services. A global dataset on fish species composition, abundance, functional traits and climate change scenarios will be available. The group of Landscape Ecology is a young and dynamic team of researchers, dedicated to advance interdisciplinary science.

The candidate must hold a PhD degree in environmental sciences, with demonstrated knowledge in R programming and species distribution modelling. Knowledge of the modelling of marine food-web is an advantage. The successful candidate should also have strong collaborative skills, demonstrated abilities to publish at a high international level, and a good English level.
