The Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management has a strong reputation in the field of engineering socio-technical systems in the international scientific community. The Department of Multi-Actor Systems (MAS) combines engineering and social science to better understand the dynamics and behavior of large-scale technical systems and develop effective policies for them. It comprises around 35 tenured faculty members and around 35 postdocs and PhDs. A significant amount of the research is devoted to specific domain-related research, in fields such as energy, water, transport, internet-related technologies. The staff also teaches in bachelor and master programs

Mobility is innovating in rapidly, with mobility as a service being a highly promising and disruptive development. To understand the way that this is developing, we need to better understand mobility patterns. This means understanding both system behaviour, which can innovatively be based on data mining. In addition, decisions on innovating the mobility system are made in a multi-actor environment. Serious gaming is an innovative tool for understanding multi-actor decision-making interactions. The goal for the postdoc is to understand the implementation of mobility as a service better using these tools and thorugh this support effective implementations of innovative mobility. The position fits a wider project comparing developments in various institutional and cultural contexts, including The Netherlands and India.
