PhD Studentship Competition and Innovation at The University of Nottingham

The University of Nottingham is offering PhD position. Potential candidates should apply before January 23, 2019.

Are you interested in undertaking a PhD to investigate how competition, market structure and government policies affect innovation, profits and social welfare?

We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student who will undertake original research in the field of Industrial Economics. By applying theories and empirical methods the student will carry out research on competition and innovation.

The PhD study will be carried out under the guidance of a supervisory team. It is likely that the work will engage with debates related to the effects of competition and market structure on innovation. In light of the importance of antitrust regulations, the work will focus on firm's incentives to innovate, its social implications and the effects of government policies - both for closed and open economies.

This funded PhDs will commence from 1st October 2019. A yearly stipend at current RCUK rates (14,777), plus UK/EU student tuition fees (4,350), is available to the successful applicant.

Entry onto our PhD programme is very competitive. If you fulfil all of the admissions requirements, it does not guarantee that you will be offered a place.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview to be held in Nottingham on Thursday 7th February 2019.The successful candidates will be notified by Friday 15th February 2019.
