An opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant to join the Centre for Cryptocurrency Research and Engineering to work on the Innovate UK project "Smart Contract & Productivity Platform for Livestock" which, together with industry partners Breedr and Dunbia, will explore how blockchain technology can be applied to enhance food supply chains.
The post holder will work under the supervision of Prof William Knottenbelt on topics related to distributed ledgers, blockchain protocols and smart contracts and their applications in food supply chains.
To apply for this position, you will have a strong bachelors or master's degree in computer science, or closely related discipline, and a passion for exploring the frontiers of technology. You must have excellent communication and written skills and be able to organise your own work and prioritise work to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will have some background in blockchain, distributed ledger or smart contract technology, having for example pursued a group or individual project in this domain.
