Industrial PhD Studentship The Development of Controlled Release Drug Dosage Forms

The University of Nottingham, UK is offering PhD position in material sciences. Eligible candidates should submit the applications before January 08, 2019.

Applicants are invited for a fully funded 3-year full time PhD studentship to start from 1st February 2019. This studentship covers tuition fees and a tax free stipend for UK/EU students only.

The project will be aimed at developing controlled released solid dosage forms of a novel antihypertensive drug. The successful candidate should have at least an upper second class BSc degree and a good MSc degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering, material science or a related subject. Research background or industrial experience in drug formulation and delivery would be desirable. The project is funded by a Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology company.

The successful applicant will be based in the Division of Molecular Therapeutics and Formulation, School of Pharmacy at The University of Nottingham and join an excellent research environment with over 200 PhD students and 50 Post-doctoral researchers in the School. There are two EPSRC Doctorial Training Centres in the School funded by the UK funding body and international pharmaceutical companies (AstraZeneca, GSK, Pfize, Boots etc) and a BBSRC Doctorial Training Partnership at the University level. We have very significant resources available to support this research and provide world-class training for the student.
