Baron Thyssen PhD Studentship in Ancient Material Religion

Applicants are invited to apply for a PhD scholarship at Open University. Successful candidate will have funding to work and study for 3 years in UK. Applications are welcome before January 11, 2019.

We invite applications for a PhD studentship to be supervised within the Baron Thyssen Centre for the Study of Ancient Material Religion. The studentship will be based in the discipline area of Classical Studies at The Open University, although we may be able to offer joint supervision with other discipline areas (for instance Religious Studies or Art History), depending on the nature of the successful proposal.

The studentship is for 3 years full-time, andhas been made possible through the generosity of Baron Lorne Thyssen-Bornemisza. It is open to all students within the UK and the EU area. Applicants should have a good Honours degree in a relevant subject and should have, or expect to gain shortly, a Master's degree or have equivalent research experience. The stipend will be 20,000 per year.
