Wissenschaftliches Personal / PhD Scholarship / Postdoc Researcher

Applications are invited for a PhD position in computer science to join Technical University of Munich, Germany. Applications will be evaluated on a continuous basis.

The Human-Centered Assistive Robotics (HCR) Lab at Technical University of Munich (TUM) is looking for a talented PhD candidate (or Postdoctoral researcher) in the field of robotics. The candidate will participate the interdisciplinary project on “Life-span development of high-order body representations for the control of body balance: role of prediction during light haptic interactions with another individual”. The appointed person will investigate self-perception and self-other distinction in the context of body balance control during human robot interaction. The expected research area includes haptics, teleoperation, and dynamics modeling of postural balance.

Working environment:

The appointed researcher will be based at the Human-Centered Assistive Robotics group ( under the supervision of Prof. Dongheui Lee at TUM and Dr. Leif Johannsen at UEA Norwich. The new position offers the opportunity to engage in national and international collaboration in the DFG SPP program “active self” and collaboration with the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at German Aerospace Center (DLR). The research group has access to a number of robotic platforms such as light weight robotic arms, humanoid robots, teleoperation systems, motion capturing systems, etc at TUM and DLR.
