Research Fellow in Statistics or Health Services Research

Applications are invited for the post of Advanced Research Fellow in Epidemiology, Statistics or Health Services Research within Imperial College's School of Public Health (SPH), and specifically in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health. We are looking for a candidate with a good record of excellent experience in health services, public health or epidemiological research. The post holder will be capable of taking a leadership position with respect to statistical aspects of research in the Department and to contribute to our leading research presence. The appointee will ideally have a proven track record of grant awards and publications in statistics.

The appointee will be based at the Charing Cross campus (located in Hammersmith), as a member of the Department of Primary Care and Public Health. They will be expected to assume a leadership role in the RDS team, working closely with Professor Azeem Majeed and Dr Victoria Cornelius. In addition to provide statistical advice to research teams the post holder will also be expected to represent the Imperial RDS team at external meeting as well as attract external funding by writing and submitting grant proposals.

You will also be expected to promote the RDS activities internally and externally, seeking links with colleagues in other Departments at Imperial College, as well as with other national institutions.

You will need a PhD in Epidemiology Statistics, Health Services Research or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience, a knowledge of research methods and statistical procedures and the ability to direct the work of a small research team and motivate others to produce a high standard of work. The postholder will also have experience of teaching and providing teaching support.

This is a part time position, 4 days per week (28 hours per week), and available on a fixed term basis ending 30 September 2023.
