Research Fellow at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge, UK is inviting applicants to apply for a postdoc position in toxicology. The initial contract for this position is 3 years. Applications should be sent before November 12, 2018.

The Cambridge Alliance on Medicines Safety (CAMS;https://www.ats.cam.ac.uk/what-we-do/cambridge-alliance-medicines-safety ) is delighted to be able to invite applications for a post-doctoral research fellowship in computational drug safety and toxicology starting in early 2019, jointly funded by AstraZeneca and GSK.

This prestigious post-doctoral research fellowship aims to attract one of the very best early career researchers to Cambridge to develop a career in medicines safety science. The fellowship is intended to serve as a step towards independence in academic research. Successful applicants will have obtained a PhD in a relevant discipline and typically have had some postdoctoral experience.

This position will be based in the group of Dr Andreas Bender at the Centre for Molecular Informatics of the Department of Chemistry and a research plan should be developed to be appropriate within this context.

The group of Dr Andreas Bender involves about 20 members, and also several graduate students in the area of computational drug safety and toxicity, which the holder of the post will be expected to co-supervise and actively engage with. We would welcome applications from individuals with a strong background in the computational toxicology field, either in the area of developing novel predictive methods and/or applications. High originality of previous research is desired, given that this fellowship aims to provide a step towards a future career in an academic research environment in the computational toxicology field
