The Australian Centre for Blood Diseases is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral researcher to perform a range of activities in our biomedical research laboratory that support our overall research program. This position provides the opportunity to join a small but productive research team led by Associate Professor Justin Hamilton that is focused on the identification of novel drug targets for heart attack and stroke prevention. The Centre is a leading national and international blood diseases centre with recognised research, treatment and educational programs for blood diseases, and is at the forefrontof translational research into blood clotting and blood cancers.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for running pre-defined research projects by performing a combination of laboratory and administrative functions. This includes the routine collection and processing of human blood samples, and performing experiments involving common molecular biology, cell culture, and microscopy techniques. You will also be responsible for general laboratory management tasks such as management of mouse colonies, maintenance of equipment, ordering, record keeping, and other aspects of general laboratory maintenance. The Research Fellow will be expected to contribute to the production of research grants, publications and reports.
