Postdoctoral Postdoc Position Dr. Tropsha's Lab

University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, USA is inviting excellent candidates to apply for a postdoctoral scholar position in medicinal chemistry. Applicants should apply as soon as possible.

The Research in the Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy spans activities in contemporary chemical biology and drug discovery and blends the principles and experimental techniques of chemistry and biology with computational science. We seek highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals who can compile, curate, integrate, and evaluate biological data relevant for assessing animal and human skin sensitization. This position is also responsible for developing, validating, and interpreting a hierarchical ensemble QSAR model for human skin sensitization using both chemical and biological descriptors, and benchmark its prediction performances against the competitors. In addition, the individual is also responsible for screening REACH, COSMOS, and Tox21 databases for identifying putative skin sensitizers that need to be tested in priority; and also derive alerts and specific recommendations for modifying the chemical structures of sensitizers in order to decrease their sensitization potential.
