Postdoctoral Position in Advanced Fuel Production From Lignocellulosic Biomass Resources

Applicants are invited to apply for a postdoctoral associate position in entrepreneurship at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. The funds for this fellowship are available for three years. Citizens of any country are eligible to apply before the deadline: October 27, 2018.

The Department of Space, Earth and Environment contains five divisions, with research and education spanning from global challenges related to sustainability and energy supply to astronomy and space sciences. The department is host to two major infrastructures, Onsala Space Observatory and Chalmers Power Central, and consists of about 250 employees.

Information about the research

The division of Energy Technology offers a Post-doc position focused on investigating biomass conversion technologies for the production of advanced liquid fuels for transportation.

This position is directed towards assessment of conversion processes for renewable fuel production by means of techno-economic analysis, including process analysis. The main focus is on biomass derived fuels. The aim is to structure technologies with respect to technology readiness level, cost, complexity, biomass utilization and associated biomass infrastructure and identify needs for development and innovations, including “greening” of existing fossil fuel infrastructure and provide a biomass-process implementation time line. The research will be performed in collaboration with senior researchers in the divisision and international partners in the context of an EU funded project within the Horizon 2020 program.
