Postdoctor in Lungbioengineering and Regeneration at Lund University

Lund University is delighted to offer a postdoctoral scholar position in biotechnology. This position is available for three years in the first instance. Applications should be sent before October 23, 2018.

The Faculty of Medicine is a part of Lund University, and is responsible for education and research within medicine and healthcare. Our academic programs are closely linked with the healthcare system and are firmly anchored in the faculty's strong research tradition. Our research spans a broad field within experimental preclinical research, near-patient clinical research and health sciences research. The Faculty of Medicine, with its 1,800 employees and 2,700 students in Lund and Malm, is a knowledge-intensive meeting place for students, teachers and researchers from all over the world.

The holder of this position will mainly work on a research project pertaining to the development, characterization and validation of ex vivo models of chronic lung disease. The main work responsibilities involve designing and conducting research pertaining to the project and includes obtaining, analysing and managing data acquired for the project. Further, the holder of this position will be responsible for writing of high quality, academic papers to be submitted to international journals. The majority of this work should be done independently and in collaboration with both internal and external members of the team. The position also entails mentoring of doctoral and masters students PhD (or equivalent) in biomedicine, molecular medicine, bioengineering, or biotechnology from no more than three years ago Experience with conventional and advanced microscopy, including three-dimensional imaging and their analysis (e.g. confocal, deconvolution, digital light-sheet and holographic microscopy) Ability to carry out independent and high-quality research as documented through the thesis and peer-reviewed publications In addition to the above qualifications, the desired qualifications are as follows: Experience with generating and use of precision cut lung slices from animal and human sources, including handling of animals
