Postdoc Position Organic/polymer Chemistry X 2

University of Cambridge is pleased to invite applicants to apply for a new opening postdoctoral researcher position in spectroscopy. The initial contract for this position is two years and posible to extend. Candidates are welcome before November 27, 2018.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.

Two Research Associates are being sought to work with Dr. Hugo Bronstein and Dr. Akshay Rao in the Department of Chemistry at Cambridge University as part of the Centre of Advanced Materials for Integrated Energy Systems (CAM-IES). This project is based on the synthesis and characterization of novel conjugated organic materials for use in organic electronics.

The specific aim of the project is to design and synthesize conjugated materials, which will allow exploitation of triplet excited states in solar cells. The primary aims are materials that can undergo singlet fission. The successful applicant will form a part of the newly created center to synthesize materials, which will be tested in collaboration with Dr. Akshay Rao who will take an active role in the design of the novel materials.

The candidate must have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in a relevent specialist subject. They must possess a strong background in organic synthesis and be able to work effectively and sociably within a team and have an interest/knowledge in spectroscopy and materials science. Experience in conjugated polymer/small molecule synthesis and the ability to interact within an interdisciplinary research area are vital.

Please ensure that you upload your Curriculum Vitae (CV), a covering letter and publications list in the upload section of the online application. If you upload any additional documents that have not been requested, we will not be able to consider these as part of your application.
