Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in medicinal chemistry to join Imperial College London. This position is available for 24 months in the first instance. Applications are welcome before November 05, 2018.

Building on exciting new evidence from animal models and recent discovery of novel covalent fragment-based ligands (e.g. Angew Chemie Intl Ed 2018, 5257), you will drive hit optimisation and lead discovery against a small GTPase we have recently identified as an important target driving metastasis in a range of cancers. You will lead medicinal chemistry in a team of four postdoctoral researchers and several graduate students, including chemical and structural biologists at Imperial, and cancer biologists in the group of Prof Jim Norman at the CRUK Beatson Institute. - Drive hit optimisation and lead discovery against a small GTPase
- To take initiative in the planning and execution of research, and in the development of collaborations with other groups at Imperial, and external collaborators. - To direct the work of small research teams, including undergraduate and postgraduate students - To identify and develop suitable techniques for the collection and analysis of data - Hold a PhD in a relevant field (e.g. medicinal chemistry, chemical biology), or an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience, and preferably with additional postdoctoral experience.
