Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 9 months in the first instance.

We are seeking to find a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the synthesis and characterisation of novel organic semiconductor structures as part of the Optoelectronics Group at the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge.

The successful candidate will join the world-leading Optoelectronics Group, one of the world’s top academic groups in the field of organic and hybrid electronics. Its research programme is built on a broad scientific approach aiming to understand the electronic processes that govern the performance of organic and hybrid organic-inorganic electronic devices, such as light-emitting diodes, photovoltaics, and field-effect transistors. This project is focussed on the synthesis and development of DNA-templated structures for artificial photosynthesis. The project will involve collaboration with the group of Prof Eugen Stulz at the University of Southampton (School of Chemistry) on the development of dye-modified DNA synthesis. Further information can be found at http://www.oe.phy.cam.ac.uk/directory/rhf10.

Candidates will have a PhD in Chemistry or a related area, will demonstrate high levels of motivation and enthusiasm, and will have an excellent publication record. The ability to work both as part of a team, and independently, coupled with excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills is also required.
