Postdoc Position at University of Cambridge

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in theoretical computer science to join University of Cambridge, UK. This position is available for 2 years in the first instance. Eligible candidates should submit the applications before November 03, 2018.

Limit of tenure: two years, the funds for this post are available until the 31st January 2021.

Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position, to work with Professor Richard Jozsa within the QuantERA cofund project QuantAlgo, titled “Quantum algorithms and applications”. The position is for 2 years, to commence on November 2018 or a mutually agreed alternative date.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in mathematics, theoretical physics or theoretical computer science. It is also desirable to have some prior experience in theoretical quantum computation, that may provide a basis for research in areas relating to quantum computational models or emerging quantum algorithms for applications such as big data and machine learning.

Duties include developing and conducting individual and collaborative research objectives, proposals and projects. You may be asked to assist in the supervision of student projects, the development of student research skills, and to plan/deliver seminars relating to the research area.
