Postdoc Position at Imperial College London

Imperial College London, UK is inviting applicants to apply for a postdoctoral associate position in bioinformatics. The funding allows successful candidate to work for 6 months. This position is closed on October 28, 2018.

We wish to recruit a highly motivated post-doctoral Research Associate to work closely with the Head of Vascular Biology research group at the National Heart and Lung Institute. The post is located in Imperial College's Royal Brompton Hospital campus in Chelsea. You will work closely with Professor Jane Mitchell and Dr Nicolas Kirkby to perform pilot experiments to determine the nature of any communication between airways and pulmonary vessels within the bronchovascular bundle.

The key duty of the post holder is to maintain data records, collate and analyse results, produce reports and comply with all associated aspects of research governance

You will have a recent PhD with extensive experience of airway and/or vascular pharmacology. You should have a practical experience in a broad range of techniques including bioassay, gene expression, lung slice and video imagining, bioinformatics, cell and organ culture. You will also have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills and a creative approach to problem solving, together with the ability to work constructively and effectively within the team.

The post is funded by a pilot award from the Excellence Fund for Frontier Research and is full time, fixed term for 6 months.
