Postdoc Position at Imperial College London

Imperial College London is offering postdoctoral scholar position in mathematics. This position is available for 36 months in the first instance. Applicants should apply before November 30, 2018.

Applications are invited for three Research Associate positions in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London, Kings College London, and University College London to work in the areas of algebraic number theory or algebraic/arithmetic geometry. The positions are funded by the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research. You will divide your time equally between your own research and the research programme of the Heilbronn Institute in London.

The successful applicants will work on the research programme of the Heilbronn Institute of Mathematical Research in addition to undertaking original research of internal standard in the fields of number theory. Other duties will involve writing reports for submission to research sponsors, presenting findings to colleagues and at conferences in addition to submitting publications to refereed journals.

Due to the nature of the Heilbronn Institute’s work, Fellows must satisfy vetting before appointment. UK resident UK nationals will normally be able to meet this condition: other potential applicants should consult the Heilbronn Manager ( about their eligibility before applying.

This is a full time, fixed term post for 36 months starting 1 October 2019 or earlier by arrangement.

Research expenses of at least 2.5K per annum will also be available. There is a salary supplement of 3.5K pa, in recognition of the distinctive nature of these Fellowships. Payment of this supplement is conditional on a finished thesis having been accepted in final form, because we expect Heilbronn Fellows to hold PhDs before working at the Heilbronn Institute.
