Postdoc Position at Imperial College London

An exciting opportunity is available for a Research Associate in the laboratory of Prof. Xiao-Ning Xu at the Centre for Immunology & Vaccinology, Department of Medicine, Chelsea & Westminster campus.

The post holder will undertake research under the direction of Prof. Xiao-Ning Xu, focused on focuses on studying 1) identification of cross-reactive antibody epitopes between SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV using yeast surface display; 2) isolation of cross-reactive memory B cells to generate human monoclonal antibodies by single B cell manipulation.

The post is funded by Imperial Confidence in Concept (ICiC) to carry out this research programme. It is essential that the candidate must have expertise on yeast biology and monoclonal antibody/B cell technologies, with experience (desirable) in protein production and deep knowledge in the field of emerging infectious diseases such as SARS/MERS. In addition, he/she will undertake project management and is expected to submit publications to refereed journals and help to attract external research funding. PhD in immunology or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience. Knowledge of antibody/B cell technologies, with experience (desirable) in T cell biology and deep knowledge in the field of emerging infectious diseases such as SAR/MERS.
