Post PhD Scientist at University of Cambridge

A new Postdoc position in medical sciences is available at University of Cambridge. The funds for this position are available for 2 years. Applications should be sent before November 01, 2018.

Applications are invited to recruit an enthusiastic post-doctoral scientist to work in the group of Dr James Nathan. We employ an integrated approach, using biochemistry, cell biology, and CRISPR genetic screens, to understand how oxygen and nutrient sensing pathways in cells are regulated.

Candidates must have experience in molecular and cell biology, and must have a PhD in the biological, biochemical or biomedical sciences. Relevant biochemical and/or cell biological experience in mitochondrial metabolism is essential. A background in fatty acid metabolism would be beneficial.

Applicants will be expected to work closely and interactively with colleagues in different disciplines within the lab and within the Institute, to have good communications skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
