Phd-students and Postdocs for Wallenberg Wood Science Center

A PhD scholarship in material sciences is available at Chalmers University of Technology. Potential candidates should apply before November 04, 2018.

Do you want to create novel material for a sustainable future? Wallenberg Wood Science Center looks for PhD students and post doc with background in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical engineering, Material science and Physics

Wallenberg Wood Science Center (WWSC) is a research center with a focus on creating new sustainable materials using the wood as the starting point. The mission is to create knowledge and build competence for future innovative industrial value creation from trees. WWSC is a collaboration between Chalmers, KTH and Linkping University striving for scientific excellence and is funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg foundation.

WWSC has, over recent years, developed into a world-leader within research for new materials from wood and the Center is now ready to evolve our next ten year program, WWSC 2.0.

We are therefore recruiting a number of excellent PhD-students and post docs that will help us realizing the high ambitions in the new WWSC program.

As a WWSC researcher you will work in a multidisciplinary research environment closely together with physicists, chemical engineers, physical chemists, material scientists, organic chemists, and biotechnologists to explore the opportunities found in the forest.

At Chalmers, as part of WWSC, you will have access to our research infrastructure including world-leading equipment in advanced materials characterization such as electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, scattering techniques, and NMR in addition to wood processing facilities.
