Non-clinical Sphr Lecturer in Public Health at Imperial College London

Imperial College London is pleased to invite applicants to apply for a lecturer position in public health. The funding allows successful candidates to work for 5 years in the first instance. Applications should be sent before November 25, 2018.

This is an exciting opportunity for an academic to provide leadership for a new work programme of applied public health research funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). Imperial College London joined the NIHR School of Public Health Research (SPHR), a collaborative research programme between eight universities and NIHR, which will run for 5 years from April 2017. The NIHR SPHR work programme will focus on a number of priority areas, including evaluations of transport and food policy, identifying effective interventions to improve child health and mental health and working to strengthen public health research capacity in local authorities.

The postholder will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including within our Masters of Public Health programme; and supervise public health and primary care trainees in the department.

The post will also involve the usual administrative duties associated with a busy academic and research-active environment. The postholder may also be required to undertake other duties, as required by the Head of Department and School.

You will have a PhD or MD, or equivalent in a relevant field. You will also have considerable post-doctoral research experience and proven experience in a scientific area of strategic importance to the School of Public Health, as appropriate to the level of appointment.

The post is a full-time and fixed term until 31 January 2024, in the first instance; applications for part-time/flexible working will be considered; please state your desired working arrangements in your application
