Lecturer in Cancer Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Imperial College London

We are looking for a candidate to join a vibrant and successful research department with a strong tradition of epidemiological and biostatistical research, and outstanding resources including large population cohorts, nationwide population health and environment monitoring programmes and powerful computing facilities. The Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, based at St Mary's campus, is specialized in aetiological research in chronic diseases epidemiology, investigating genetic, metabolic, behavioural and environmental causes of disease.

The post holder will take on a leadership role in cancer epidemiology, developing a major research programme and supporting the work of the Department in Cancer research and Biostatistics, in collaboration with the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) programme and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC/WHO). They will also supervise PhD candidates and contribute to the postgraduate medical education in the Faculty of Medicine for the MSc in Epidemiology and Masters in Public Health (MPH).

The appointee must have a PhD in Epidemiology (or equivalent degree) and extensive experience of epidemiological research, research methods and statistical procedures as well as experience working with molecular epidemiologic data and research study design. They must have proven quantitative and statistical programming skills and proven track of development or implementation of novel or emerging statistical procedures. Teaching experience in training undergraduate and postgraduate students is also required

This is a full time appointment based at St Mary's Campus in Paddington.
