Adjunct Senior Lecturers in Software Engineering at University of Gothenburg

Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden is inviting applicants to apply for a lecturer position in computer science. The funds for this position are available for two years. Potential candidates should apply before October 26, 2018.

The department of Computer Science and Engineering is strongly international, with approximately 270 employees from over 30 countries. The department is a fully integrated department with the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology as principals. The position is placed in the Division for Software Engineering at the department, with the University of Gothenburg as the employer.

The research within the SE division includes a.o.: software architecture, security, requirements engineering, model-based software development, software metrics, open source and software ecosystems, software engineering for cyber-physical systems, and software testing. Much of the research in the SE division has a human-centric orientation and is performed in empirical studies - often in collaboration with industrial partners. The department has a Software Center that initiates and performs industrially relevant research with national and international companies.

The scientific area is Software Engineering, interpreted broadly. You will teach a variety of topics in Software Engineering; these may include courses such as programming in teams, software architectures, and testing. A particular focus could be set on courses in model-driven engineering. You will also supervise Bachelor-level projects and Master's theses. Besides teaching, you will keep up with the technical and pedagogical development in the areas of the position and introduce new methods in the curriculum.

As a faculty member you will share the responsibility of the administration and management of the department and the educational programmes.

The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Qualified for appointment as senior lecturer is those whom have shown pedagogical qualifications, and whom also possess a PhD degree or has achieved equivalent academic qualifications.

Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.

Applicants for the position should have a PhD degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science (or a related subject). In addition, you should have strong pedagogical skills and be able to plan and teach new courses. We also welcome candidates with experience from pedagogical research and development. Completed pedagogical courses for higher education (or equivalent pedagogical expertise) are a merit for the position, as well as expertise in the teaching topics mentioned above.

You should be fluent in English. Good knowledge in Swedish, both written and spoken, is a merit. Experience from teaching and course administation within higher education is a merit.
