Senior Postdoc Position at University of Cambridge

We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to join Professor Gordon Dougan’s research team in the Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge. This post is available from October 2018, with the successful candidate focusing on research in the Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) area, in collaboration with industry. The candidate should have experience of working in industry, with an infectious disease and in particular AMR, background.

This is a three-year fixed-term position based in the Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre AMR research theme, working closely with other groups in the Department of Medicine, the University and external collaborators including academic and industry partners. The post-holder should have experience in developing high-throughput diagnostics for low- and middle-income countries (LMIC), and working with enteric pathogens, in particular Vibrio cholerae.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to and lead high impact scientific publications, industrial collaborations and will present at scientific meetings and disseminate scientific results to a variety of audiences including the general public.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Molecular Biology, industry experience and experience of working with enteric pathogens, in particular Vibrio cholerae. Applicants will also have good verbal and written communication skills and have expertise in the handling, analysis and interpretation of large-scale, multidimensional datasets.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
