Research Associate x 2 (Fixed Term)

Two research associate positions are available to work in the Prediction and Learning (PaL) Lab (, Department of Psychology, University of Cambridge. The PaL Lab is funded by a Royal Society Wellcome Trust Henry Dale fellowship, awarded to Dr Rebecca Lawson, and studies how learned expectations underlie individual differences in visual perception and decision making.

One post is focused on infant developmental cognitive neuroscience, with an emphasis on fNIRS/EEG and eye tracking methodologies. The other post involves pharmacological, neuroimaging and computational modeling of adult cognition (including clinical disorders such as autism, anxiety, psychosis).

Please indicate in your cover letter which post you are applying for. Both post-holders will be responsible for the design and conduct of behavioural, functional neuroimaging (3T/7T fMRI – adults, fNIRS/EEG – infants), and other cognitive neuroscience experiments with humans, recording and analysing data and preparing the results for publication.

For the infant cognitive neuroscience position the successful candidate should have a PhD in developmental cognitive neuroscience or similar. Experience recruiting and testing infant participants is essential, and familiarity with MATLAB, R, Python or comparable software packages is desirable.

For the adult cognitive neuroscience position the successful candidate should have a PhD in neuroscience / cognitive neuroscience / psychology / psychiatry / computational neuroscience / mathematical psychology. Experience using MATLAB, R, Python or comparable software packages is essential. The post-holder should have knowledge of findings applying computational models to cognitive neuroscience. Experience of applying computational modelling analysis techniques to data is desirable.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
