Research Associate - Single cell transcriptional profiling of bacteria and macrophages (Fixed Term)

We are seeking to recruit a molecular microbiologist or microbial geneticist to develop new techniques for single cell RNAseq of bacteria and host immune cells. The position would be based between Andres Floto’s laboratory in the Molecular Immunity Unit, Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge, (located in the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology) and Julian Parkhill’s laboratory at the WT Sanger Institute.

The post requires a PhD in molecular biology, microbiology or equivalent. Experience in analysis of RNAseq data would be helpful but not essential. This post is well suited for independent, highly motivated and creative researchers with a proven track record in molecular bacteriology who wish to explore exciting biology at the interface between host and pathogen.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
