Research Associate - Medical Statistician

Imperial College London has an opening postdoc position. All students regardless of citizenship are eligible to apply. Applicants should apply before 11/09/2018.

The Population Health & Occupational Disease group seeks a Medical Statistician as a Research Associate to work on the H2020 EU-funded Aging Lungs in European Cohorts (ALEC) project. ALEC will generate a risk prediction score for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) using life course and cross-sectional data from several large epidemiological studies in Europe and Australia.

You will contribute mainly to the development of the predictive risk score for COPD, through integration of information on outcomes and exposures from the contributing studies, in addition to information available from the literature. The prediction model, which will integrate findings from all epidemiological, clinical, genetic and epigenetic analyses conducted within related work streams of ALEC, will be externally validated.

You should have a PhD in medical statistics or related fields, with expertise in the analysis of large epidemiological studies. The post requires regular communication with 10 research centres in Europe and elsewhere therefore it is critical that the candidates can demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills.

This position is full time and fixed term until 30 April 2019.
