Research Associate in Psychology University Of Cambridge

A postdoc position is available at University Of Cambridge. All students regardless of citizenship are eligible to apply. Applications are invited up to September 16, 2018.

A post is available for a postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Professor J. D. Mollon in the Department of Psychology, University of Cambridge, UK.

The project uses a combination of psychophysics and theoretical modelling to study the neural processes that subserve the discrimination of attributes of the visual image, such as motion, depth, colour and spatial frequency. The underlying theoretical question is how far the brain is a neural net (where information is embodied in the structure of the net, its nodes and connections) and how far it is a communications network (where the same physical substrate carries different information from moment to moment, as is the case of the man-made Internet). The Research Associate will carry out both experimental and modelling work, and experience in MatLab programming would be an advantage.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 32 months in the first instance.
