Research Associate at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge is offering postdoctoral position in cell biology. Citizens of any country are eligible to apply. The deadline for applying is October 07, 2018.

The Wellcome Trust – Medical Research Council Cambridge Stem Cell Institute is an international centre of excellence for stem cell research and regenerative medicine. Scientists in the Institute collaborate to advance our knowledge of various stem cell types and to perform pioneering work in translational research areas, providing the foundation for new medical treatments ( The lab of Dr Joo-Hyeon Lee ( studies how multiple different cell types of the lung contribute to homeostasis and injury repair and how they return to quiescent state using in vitro organoids and in vivo mouse models.

We are looking for post-doctoral researchers to investigate mechanisms that lead to cellular reprogramming and lineage plasticity in lung injury repair and oncogenic events. The lab applies sophisticated genetic mouse models with lineage tracing techniques, mathematical modelling, high-resolution imaging analysis, single cell transcriptomics/epigenomics, and ex vivo organoid culture with CRISPR-mediated gene regulation.

Successful applicants should have a PhD in a relevant subject, or be close to completion. Expertise in general areas of developmental and cell biology including image analysis, CRISPR genome editing, flow cytometry analysis, and cell signalling mechanisms is essential for this position. Experience of murine genetic models and strong background in metabolism and/or epigenetics would be an advantage. We are specifically looking for candidates who are collaborative with effective communication skills and enjoy working in a team, and are interested in the Lee lab.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until November 2020 in the first instance.

The closing date is 7 October 2018, with interviews to be confirmed.
