Research Assistant at University of Cambridge

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scholar position in molecular biology to join University of Cambridge. Applicants should apply before October 14, 2018.

We have a position available in the laboratory of Dr Yorgo Modis in the Department of Medicine at the University of Cambridge. We seek a highly motivated individual to contribute on multiple ongoing research projects on viral RNA sensing and viral gene silencing using a combination of biochemical, biophysical and cell biological approaches.

Candidates must have: a BA, BSc, MA or MSc in the biological or biomedical sciences; relevant research experience in protein purification, biochemical analysis of proteins and molecular biology; and a demonstrated interest in host-pathogen interactions, innate immunity, transcriptional regulation and/or epigenetic silencing.

The Modis Laboratory is part of the Department of Medicine’s Molecular Immunity Unit, located within the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB). It benefits from the unique scientific environment and infrastructure of the MRC-LMB, and from direct links to the Infectious Disease and Immunology community within the Department of Medicine ( and Twitter: @yorgomodis).
