PhD Scholarship Quantum Machine Learning at Leiden University

Because of our strong interest in the area of Quantum Machine Learning, we are opening a PhD position in this novel and exciting discipline. We are looking for a highly motivated researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will have a chance to contribute to the development of the very exciting field of quantum machine learning, and in particular, to devise new quantum algorithms with emphasis on machine learning and artificial intelligence applications. During their studies, they will acquire expertise in the cutting edge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. These skills are in very high demand in academia and are becoming increasingly sought after by high-tech companies.

The Faculty of Science is a world-class faculty where staff and students work together in a dynamic international environment. The Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) is the Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science Institute in the Faculty of Science of Leiden University. We offer courses at the Bachelor and Master of Science level in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, ICT in Business, Media Technology, and Bioinformatics. According to an independent research visitation, we are one of the foremost computer science departments of the Netherlands. Salary ranges from 2,266.- gross per month in the first year to 2,897- gross per month in the fourth year based on a full-time position (pay scale P in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
