Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College London

The post-holder will assist with recruitment, clinical assessment, management, adverse event reporting and oversite for a phase IIA clinical trial of enhanced therapy for tuberculous meningitis and a cross-sectional study funded by the National institutes of Health entitled 'Inflammatory and cellular determinants of disease severity and treatment outcome in South African TB patients'. The post-holder will predominantly be based at the University of Cape Town and will liaise closely with the trial team at Groote Schuur Hospital. They will be expected to hold an honorary contract with the appropriate NHS Trust and take clinical responsibilities appropriate to their level of experience and expertise.

The successful post-holder will be a Registered Medical Practitioner with the General Medical Council and will hold an ALS/ACLS certification. They will be a specialist in an infection-related subject with at least 12 months' experience and knowledge of management of HIV and tuberculosis. The post-holder will have both interest and experience in infectious disease research, knowledge of clinical and research governance, the ability to work constructively and effectively as part of team, and the ability to keep records meticulously. They will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present scientific data at conferences and seminars in a clear and coherent manner.
