Postdoc Position in Biology


A postdoc fellowship is available in biology at Max. This fellowship is available for all students around the world. Applications are invited up to January 16, 2016.

The Research group Noncoding Principles of Energy Homeostasis (Kornfeld Lab) at the Max-Planck Institute for Metabolism Research (MPI-MR) is seeking applications from Postdoctoral fellows for a 5-year project supported by a Starting Grant of the European Research Council.
Application Requirements
The prospective applicant is an enthusiastic, highly-motivated, science-driven and experienced scientist with a Ph.D or equivalent degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or genetics. He/She received excellent intellectual and practical training in noncoding RNA biology and/or the transgenerational inheritance of phenotypic traits. A strong applicant is trained in global epigenomic profiling techniques like ChiP-Sequencing, RRBS-Seq or MeDIP-Seq. Being familiar with Next-Generation RNA-Seq and handling of laboratory mice is a plus. He/She has a strong publication record with at least one first author paper in a high-profile journal, positioning him/her to apply for internationally competitive stipends. Good communication skills and the ability to work in an international and dynamic research environment is a must.
