Jameel Scholarships for Master students

Cardiff University is delighted to offer master scholarship. All students regardless of citizenship are eligible to apply. The deadline for applying is January 29, 2016.

The Centre for the Study of Islam in the UK (Islam-UK Centre) at Cardiff University is pleased to invite applications for the Cardiff University Jameel Scholarships. Three scholarships for the MA in Islam in Contemporary Britain and two PhD scholarships are available for start in academic year 2016/17.
- Each successful Cardiff University Jameel Scholar has full UK/EU tuition fees paid and receives a generous stipend (of approximately £ 16,000) equivalent to an AHRC stipend plus a research allowance for books/conferences. Full-time MA awards will provide funding for one year.
- Three scholarships are available for start in September 2016.
Application Requirements
- A first class or very high upper-second class honours degree in a relevant subject (Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Social Sciences, Philosophy or History) from a UK university.
- Full awards are open only to UK and EU nationals who satisfy UK residency requirements.
- Priority will be given to candidates with a demonstrable record of, interest in, and/or enthusiasm for, working with British Muslims.
- Willingness to attend all Islam-UK centre activities and events (e.g. weekly Spring Semester Public Lecture Series) and to undertake some voluntary work with local Muslim communities in South Wales.
