PhD Position in Medicine

Tenovus Cancer Care Studentship is delighted to offer PhD scholarship in medicine. The duration of this scholarship is 4 years. To be eligible, candidates must be European students. Applicants should apply before April 29, 2015.

A significant limitation to many cancer therapies is that the tumour readily develops resistance, resulting in aggressive tumour relapse. The project will be based within the Henry Wellcome building, at Cardiff University School of Medicine.

The student will have ample opportunities to interact with other PhD students and postdoctoral within the School of Medicine through regular seminar series, Cancer Immunology focus groups and away days.
This studentship consists of full UK/EU tuition fees, as well as a Doctoral Stipend matching UK Research Council National Minimum.
Residency: Full awards (fees plus maintenance stipend) are open to UK Nationals and EU students without further restrictions.
The duration of award is 4 years.
Application Requirements
This project will seek to develop viral vectors (based on adenovirus) that specifically infect tumour cells to promote cell killing and break tumour tolerance.
