Postgraduate Scholarship in Tactile and Crossmodal Perception

University of Sydney is delighted to offer PhD scholarship. This position is open only for Australian students. There is no application deadline. Positions will be filled as soon as possible.

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a strong honours degree in psychology, science or computer science to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in experimental psychology, in the field of tactile and crossmodal perception. The project is to examine temporal and frequency perception in touch and its interaction with vision, with a particular interest in comparing normal and musically trained individuals.
The scholarship is valued at $ 30,000 per annum (tax exempt) and may be renewed for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress.
Application Requirements
Applicants should have knowledge of temporal aspects of perception, and a demonstrated interest in music perception. Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.
