Postdoc Scholarship in Cancer Virotherapy and Immunotherapy

University of Oxford has an opening postdoc fellowship in biology. This fellowship is available for all students around the world. Applicants should apply before March 25, 2015.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Department of Oncology. The posts are within Professor Seymour's research group, which has a longstanding interest in using viruses as cancer therapies. The primary focus of the appointees will be to design and engineer lytic viruses with improved anticancer properties. Major areas of focus will be in understanding mechanisms of cell killing, how oncolytic viruses behave in the cancer microenvironment, and how they can engender a strong anticancer immune response.
Application Requirements
- You will have a Ph.D in virology, immunology, biotechnology or molecular or cell biology, along with significant experience in molecular virology and/or immunological research.
- You will have extensive experience of molecular engineering and/or immunological techniques, along with experience with lytic viruses and tissue culture.
- You will have a publication record of primary scientific papers, as well as a proven track record of successful grant writing.
