Postdoc Research Fellow in Neuroscience

A postdoc position is available in neuroscience at Boston University. All students regardless of citizenship are eligible to apply. Applicants should apply before March 27, 2015.

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Biology at Boston University. The laboratory's research aims to define the cells and the neural pathways that feed visual cortical networks. Our laboratory focuses on determining how information from specific pathways is integrated at different stages of visual processing and how these pathways impact the activity of cortical neural networks. We also aim to understand the role of these circuits in visual perception and behavior using sophisticated behavioral visual discrimination tasks.
Application Requirements
- The ideal post-doctoral candidate should have previous experience analyzing sensory circuits in rodents.
- Experience with techniques such as viral trans-synaptic tracing, in vivo/ex vivo electrophysiology, in vivo multiphoton imaging would be best for this position.
- Experience with rodent behavior and surgery is also desirable.
- Candidates with a strong record of productivity are encouraged to apply.
- In addition, the applicant will be responsible for working independently, have excellent verbal and written skills, and have a strong work ethic.
