Research Position in Policital Economy of Australia and China Relations

The University of Western Australia is seeking a highly motivated research student with an interest in social sciences. Citizens of any country are eligible to apply. Applications are invited up to February 20, 2015.

Political-economy is one of the growing strengths of the Political Science and International Relations group at UWA and this appointment and this ARC project more generally will add significantly to activities in this area. Your role will be to work closely with the project 's Chief Investigator, Professor Mark Beeson, in examining Australia-China relations.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct their own PhD research project and conduct research that can be integrated into the overall research project. Australian and Chinese foreign policy and the political-economy of bilateral economic relationship are especially important areas of interest in this regard.

Application Requirements
Candidates with some or all of the following qualifications and interests are especially encouraged to apply:

- Honours/Masters degree in Political Science, International relations, or International Political Economy;.
- Understanding of the Australia-China relationship in a broad political and strategic context;

- Ability to speak/read Mandarin
- Evidence of ability to publish and/or present research. This position is open to international candidates.
