PhD Scholarship in Economics

A PhD position is available in economics at Oxford Brookes University. Citizens of any country are eligible to apply. Applications are invited up to March 23, 2015.

The applied microeconomics research cluster is interested in firm, consumer and household behaviour from a variety of perspectives including Industrial Organization, Behavioural Economics, Labour Economics, Environmental Economics, Development Economics and International Trade. Applications focusing on applied microeconomics are welcomed in the following areas: Industrial economics, especially RD and innovation; regulation and competition policy, impact evaluation of public policy; inequality and welfare and; private and social returns in education.

We would also be interested in applications in decision theory and behavioural economics, such as the exploration of ambiguity and risk. Applicants should have a strong theoretical and applied background in economics.

The full-time studentship will be for 3 years, subject to satisfactory progress. The bursary will be £ 14,000 per annum plus student fees.

Application Requirements
Applicants should normally have a good Honours degree as well as a good Master's degree at merit level or above that includes a thesis component.
